Evcu Danas in Proto Caron, or Evku Thaŋas in Proto Qhalqon (lit: Creation of everything) is the Caron and Qhalqon creation story.

Text[]

In the beginning there was nothing but water. There was no sky, no land, no plants, no animals, nothing at all but the water. The spirits, however, wanted more. So they created Bacar, and set it afloat upon the water, and thus they created the land. The spirits, however, wanted more. So they planted the Great Tree in the center of Bacar. Upon the Great Tree, the sky was hung, and thus they created the sky, along with the sun, moon and the stars. The spirits, however, wanted more. While there was now a sky, it was still too empty. So they created the clouds, and hung them from the Great Tree as well. The clouds drank the water at the ends of the branches of the Great Tree, and then returned to spit the water back up over the land. And thus, they created the clouds, and rain. The spirits, however, wanted more. The water from the rain was building up with nowhere to go, so they dug holes to contain the water, and thus they created the rivers.

The spirits, however, wanted more. While the sky was now full, the land and sea were still empty, so they created the trees and other plants. They were nowhere near as big as the Great Tree, but they were sufficient to fill the land. And thus, they created the plants. The spirits, however, wanted more. The world was still quiet, and the sea was still empty, so they created the birds, the fish, and the land animals, which filled the sea, and filled in the holes left in the land and the sky. And this, they created the animals. The spirits, however, wanted more. The land, while now full, still lacked something. They then created the people, and told them to take care of all of their other creations, so that they may rest. And thus, they created the people. The spirits were now satisfied with their creation, and settled down to rest, knowing the people would keep the world maintained should they ever return again. And thus, they slept.
